Working to keep Point Isabel clean, safe, and off-leash since 1985
Point Isabel Dog Owners and Friends (PIDO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers. We formed in 1985 after off-leash recreational dogwalking was banned at Point Isabel. By 1987, we negotiated an agreement with the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) to restore off-leash privileges. For the past 30-plus years we have worked to keep the park multi-use, clean, safe, and off-leash.

Point Isabel Regional Shoreline is one of the oldest and largest public off-leash parks in the U.S. This roughly 50-acre, multi-use park draws nearly 1.5 million visitors a year for walking, jogging, windsurfing, birdwatching, and more. It is the single-most-popular spot in the entire 121,000-acre East Bay Regional Park District.
