Barktoberfest was a Blast and Kinda Spooky

Despite the murky weather, many dogs and people turned out for PIDO’s annual Barktoberfest dog parade and costume contest on October 30. The costumes were fabulous. It was a great event to all be together again since Barktoberfest had to be cancelled last year due to COVID-19.

Almost 40 dogs competed in the costume competition. The winners were selected by our three celebrity judges: Elizabeth Echols (Director, East Bay Regional Park District, Ward 1); Cameron Woo (co-founder of The BARK Magazine); Mike Maxwell, longtime PIDO member and supporter.

PIDO thanks them as well as photographer Nancy J. Rubin; Phil Mazonson of DGH Outfitters, who hosts PIDO's estore for us; and many PIDO volunteers, especially Chris Matthews and Mary Barnsdale, for making this event such a success. See event photos here.
