Point Isabel Regional Shoreline is managed by East Bay Regional Park District as multi-use open space that welcomes recreational off-leash dog walking, windsurfing, kayaking, picnicking, fishing, bird watching, and other activities. Cycling within Point Isabel isn't allowed — but the Bay Trail wraps around it and there are bike racks at the west end of the park.

Point Isabel Regional Shoreline was one of many landfills created by municipal and industrial waste dumped along the shores of San Francisco Bay.

Many are now capped and have become parks. Point Isabel is approximately 50 acres, has 3.5 miles of trails, and draws nearly 1.5 million human visitors every year. The park is along the Pacific Flyway, adjacent to the Hoffman Marsh nature preserve, and accessible from the Bay Trail. Amenities include parking, restrooms, the Sit and Stay Café (dogs welcome), and Mudpuppy's Tub & Scrub.
